Frequently Asked Questions
Where are you located?
Our studio is located in Long Island City, Queens. Once an appt is confirmed, the address will be emailed to you. It may be arranged that I travel to a location of your choosing, price TBD.
How do I schedule an appointment?
You may fill out the info on the Body Paint Consultation page and the artist will follow up within a couple days to advise you on how to proceed. If the project is accepted, you will be prompted to pay a deposit and we will coordinate our schedules to book.
How much is the deposit?
The deposit is $100.
At what age can I get body painted?
I will body paint a person at any age, but minors must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
Is the paint safe for skin? What are the ingredients?
These paints are approved for usage on the skin… it is up to you to decide what “toxic” is for you. They are made of many chemical materials that are not natural. I have never seen a negative reaction on any client’s skin or on my own… but everyone’s skin and allergies are different. The brands which I use are Mehron,Mosaiz and Splashes & Spills UV Body Paint… you can look them up if you’d like more info.
Are the paints vegan?
Some brands claim to be vegan and others don’t claim to be vegan.
How do I wash the paint off? And will it stain my clothing?
Most body paint washes off easily with soap and water, some colors are a bit more stubborn and require more effort. Paint may stain clothing.
Do I have to be nude/can I be nude?
Female clients can be dressed according to their comfortability. Male clients must discuss with artist prior to booking and will be booked on a case by case basis depending on desired paint coverage/location. Minors will not be nude.
What are your Covid19 updates?
Your artist requires that you are not sick, coughing or have a fever during your session. If you cancel within 48 hours of your session, you will forfeit your deposit.
Can I come in for a consultation?
Consultations via email are the favored choice, so that all interactions can be logged and referenced. An in person consultation can be scheduled if the condition of your skin is in question due to eczema or any other skin condition that you may wish to spot test with paint prior to session.
What is the cost of a Body Paint Session?
The cost of a Body Paint Session varies according to desired body coverage, complexity, number of guests and location. You can refer to pricing guide in each Session Page. Please book the appropriate appt length for your budget.
Do you accept Credit / Debit Cards?
Yes.
Can you do drawings first so that I can see what the Body Paint will look like?
A rough design can be agreed upon once you have committed to with a deposit and appointment. As your appointment approaches, we can further discuss your goals, but most of the design will be spontaneous during session. Since it is paint, you can speak up in session if you would like to suggest alterations.
Do you do Body Paint parties?
Yes, I am available for events such as bachelorettes, bday, healing circles, etc. Costs would be determined on case by case basis.
Do the paints stain clothing?
They most likely will not stain, but be prepared with clothing you don’t mind staining just in case.
Are the paints difficult to wash?
Paints are easy to remove with soap and water… some colors are a bit more stubborn but will come off within 1 shower.
Do the paints drip if I am sweating?
Yes.
